Last evening Jim Gardner finished off a great series on the life of David. One of the classes I have enjoyed the most for sure as Jim was able to bring different insights that I thought were helpful in understanding David and his relationship with God, and they were also helpful in making applications to our lives. I think some struggled a bit as I did with David being described in Acts 13 as a man after God's own heart, while knowing some of the things he did by our standards would be considered reprehensible. But God alone can judge the heart, and David always returned to God and trusted in his way. And that gives me hope, for I know that as God picked up David when he stumbled, he can do the same for me.
Went to the zoo today with Carrie and the three kids as Carrie met a couple of her friends there for a "play date". I still don't understand the "play date" thing, but I went along and had a good time. It was a nice day for it and we had a nice outing with a picnic to cap off the afternoon.
Off to Vegas this weekend for NBL Elite Series round #2. Looks like more good weather for the weekend, not sure how the track is but I have always enjoyed racing at Nellis BMX.
Pics below, Austin and Rob doing some stumpy gates getting ready for the weekend. A couple pics from the zoo.
